Pregnancy week 20. I discovered the much awaited sex of my baby followed by the news that the pregnancy was not sustainable. Within 48 hours of that I miscarried. I returned home with my husband having lost our pregnancy and severely engorged with no baby to feed. To my surprise there was no established method or equipment to remedy the painful engorgement. Days of wrapping ace bandages stuffed with frozen cabbage leaves, which would wreak after short use, smell bad and were uncomfortable, finally many days later I got some relief. Only with the help of my sister who could apply sufficient pressure in wrapping the bandage around my chest was I able to constrict and suppress milk production.

There had to be a better way. Not just for moms in the situation I was in but for those women who need constriction in so many other situations.
